Arriving at the technical Oschersleben circuit in Germany for the World Championship final.
Qualifying: Qualifying takes place in pouring rain. We build up our feel lap after lap and set the 3rd-fastest time, behind the Finnish and British crews.
Race 1: We need to score two points more than our British rivals to clinch the title in the first race. As in qualifying, it is raining for this first race. The lights go out and we keep our 3rd place, closely followed by the Finnish crew. At half distance they attack, but we get back past at the next corner. The following lap they attack again, but this time we can't match their pace to get back past. Our team tells us that our direct championship rivals are 6th, 8 seconds behind. So there is no point taking unnecessary risks chasing the podium. We take the chequered flag in 4th place — and with it the world championship title!
Race 2: The sun is out! We make a very good start! From 3rd on the grid, we lead out of the first corner! We string together fast laps and pull away from our rivals! After 21 laps, we take the chequered flag to win the second race!
