Back on the Isle of Man, but this time for the Southern 100. The Southern 100 is a road race, but with a standing start like the World Championship, unlike the Tourist Trophy, which is a time trial.
Qualifying: It had been 7 years since Ben last raced here! We qualified in third place.
Race 1: An excellent start: we go down the right-hand side, wheels on the grass, and lead into the first corner!! We string together fast laps; unfortunately, a few laps from the end, an accident in the pack forces race control to show the red flag. So we win the first race.
Race 2: Same start as the day before, but this time the door is shut on the right. We still manage to get through on the left just before the first corner. We pull away from the opening laps and win the race by no less than 8 seconds, with a new lap record!
